Eight program areas covering the points at which households most often need housing information, guidance, or access.
The Foundation's programs are charitable and educational in nature. They are designed to give households reliable information and practical guidance about housing — before a decision is made, while a difficulty is developing, and when a home itself needs attention.

Program area one
Housing education
Homebuyer education
Education for prospective buyers covering how the homebuying process works, what the obligations of ownership are, and what to examine before committing — so that a decision to buy is an informed one.
Housing financial literacy
Instruction on budgeting for housing, understanding credit as it relates to housing, and recognising the full ongoing cost of a home beyond the purchase price or the monthly rent.
Program area two
Counseling & prevention
Housing counseling
Individual guidance for households working through a housing question or decision, helping them understand the options actually available to them and the consequences of each.
Rental counseling
Guidance for renters on the rental process, tenancy responsibilities, and where to turn when a rental situation becomes difficult.
Foreclosure-prevention education
Education for homeowners facing housing-related financial pressure — what foreclosure is, how the process unfolds, and what avenues may exist to respond early rather than late.
Program area three
Housing access & stability
Affordable housing
Work directed at expanding access to affordable housing and at helping households understand and pursue the affordable options available in their community.
Housing rehabilitation
Activity concerned with improving the condition of housing so that homes remain safe and habitable for the people living in them.
Community housing stability
Broader efforts that support stable housing at the neighbourhood and community level rather than for a single household at a time.

We respond with what is available
We will tell you which of our program areas fit your situation, what the current availability is, and what would be involved.
Referral where we are not the right fit
If your need falls outside our programs, we will say so plainly and, where we can, point you toward other organizations or public resources.
