Board, officers & policies

Governance

The Foundation is directed by a nonprofit board and operated under written policies that govern conflicts of interest, financial oversight, and recordkeeping.

Structure

How the Foundation is governed

The Real Estate Foundation Inc is a Florida Not For Profit Corporation. It has no shareholders and no owners. Authority rests with a board of directors, which sets the organization's direction, approves its budget, and appoints its officers.

No part of the Foundation's net earnings inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual. Any transaction between the Foundation and a director, officer, or a business connected to one of them is subject to the board's conflict-of-interest policy: the interested person discloses the relationship, does not vote on the matter, and the disinterested directors decide it.

Written policies

Policies governing our operations

Conflict of interest

Directors and officers disclose any financial or personal interest in a matter before the board. The interested person is recused from the vote, and the transaction must be approved by the disinterested directors as being in the Foundation's interest.

Whistleblower protection

Anyone may report a suspected violation of law or policy without fear of retaliation. Reports may be sent in confidence to info@therealestatefoundation.org for the attention of the board.

Document retention

Corporate, financial, and program records are retained for the periods required by law and destroyed only under the board's retention schedule.

Use of funds

Donations, grants, program revenue, and donated or discounted technology are used exclusively to advance the Foundation's charitable and educational purposes.

Distinguishing the Foundation from other entities

Organizations with similar names exist, and individuals who serve the Foundation may also have professional lives outside it. The Foundation is identified unambiguously by its federal EIN 92-1325113 and its Florida document number N22000013404. When verifying the organization — for a grant, a donation, or a technology-benefit application — please use those identifiers rather than the name alone.
